Every mans fantasy

My blip tonight is a dual one, a fragrant flower, delicate, beautifully formed, ornamental and an addition welcomed in every home. Also the deity of the same name, fragrant, delicate, beautifully formed, ornamental, and a welcome addition to my kitchen.

It is of course Nigella, a bloom so sweet in the garden that I smile whenever its delicate fronds and feathery feathers appear in the border, and the epitome of kitchen loveliness that is equally as sweet and welcoming.

I follow her religiously, her recipes are simple and delicious, her allure on the screen unsurpassed. I wonder how many men have been drawn into the kitchen just by the thought of re-creating one of her dishes? And of course her subsequent approval?

I have her brownies in my binder, her tarts in my tray, her fancies in the freezer and her cup cakes in my hands as we speak.

The flowers that bring her to mind are prolific and fun, I am encouraging them to spread, so every corner of the garden will be a shrine to this goddess of domestic perfection.Eat your heart out Delia!
