go tell it to the trees

yes, it's been another of those lovely blue-sky days in D&G...

we had a little party to celebrate the 'planting' of the peace pole. Our friends Toby and John came along, and Caroline from Allanton. We had some wine and cake and wrote messages to bury beneath the pole.

we have put the pole underneath a Japanese maple. It will be surrounded by snowdrops and daffodils in the Spring, and a lovely carpet of red leaves in the autumn. In the winter we will be inside keeping warm so we won't see it!

I took lots of photos of the peace pole but then I looked up and saw these trees - lime, ash and a rhododendron, with the blue sky. ahhhhh.....
