Slush Hour
Crawling along the main artery between the two counties today during the morning rush hour. Not a single snow plough or gritter to be seen and the road ready and prepped well enough for Torvill and Dean to go all Bollero on. Two accidents a mile ahead causing huge tailbacks, but some drivers still insisting on driving their skinny wheeled hatch-backs like they were snow-chained four-by-fours. And, in amongst all of that, one wee lassie on a push bike ploughing on and trying to dodge the lot of them.
Near deserted work-room when I eventually made it in, with this repeated on roads all around. If it ever gets to being really wintery...
All traces of it gone by home-time, replaced by that horrible, wet, grey slush (but spotted the wee lassie on a bike valiantly pedalling back in the reverse direction).
Odd day in other ways too - checked the camera when I got home; 'No Images' it said on the screen. Can't remember the last time that happened, so left with a dash-mounted hands-free through-the-windscreen iPhone pic to fill today's journal with.
