Trees and hills

This was taken up in the hills just beyond the village of Dunscore.  It was pretty chilly up there and we had a few flurries of snow, but the views were lovely.  Just to the right of the tree in the foreground you can just see a conical shape, in front of the line of trees, and this is an example of work by the sculptor Andy Goldsworthy.  We passed three of these on the walk and they are each hollow inside and constructed from shaped stones, without any use of cement to hold the structure together.  They blend in to the landscape beautifully.
