St Michael's Chapel, Canterbury Cathedral
Last day in the Cathedral so here's a blip of one of its many chapels. Archbishop Stephen Langdon, who presided over the signing of the Magna Carta, is almost buried at the very rear of this Chapel. Poor old Archbishop is so far to the back that his feet are actually in the yard outside! The original Norman Chapel was redesigned in the early 15thC and rather than move the Archbishop, the new building was constructed over him.
The Chapel is also home to the Book of Remembrance of The Royal East Kent Regiment. This is full of the names of officers and men that fell in the two World Wars. Each day at 11am while the brass bell once belonging to HMS Canterbury is struck, a page of the book is turned - lest we forget.
I've had a great time in Canterbury, now heading home.
