Durham Door knocker
We've been in Durham today... We spent the night in a traditional victorian boozer drinking whisky and chatting with the locals, then today we headed off to soak up some Durham culture...
This is the door knocker from Durham cathedral... The cathedral is a beautiful building and still feels like a living working place...we also went for a tour around the castle and a good wander around all the little streets. It reminded me a bit of York, but it also had a really down to earth feel and everyone we met was really chatty and chilled out.
I really liked Durham, friendly, small scale, lively and historic, really glad we decided to visit it :-)
