It's rare these days that my boy and my girl are in the same house at the same time.
It's even rarer that they are both awake, alert and clean looking, let alone scrubbed up and ready to go out, although not together.
It is much, much more rare that it is not me saying 'Can I get the camera out?'

It is however commonplace that I am unprepared, and without the correct light, or lens, or enthusiasm to produce a blooming decent image of them. 

Ah well, their grandmothers will be delighted.
