B-29 Superfortress Fifi

I got to fly in this warbird. What an experience! Fifi was built in 1944, a little late to see action in World War II. She was found on a target range in 1971 and restored to flying status shortly thereafter.

Fifi is the only airworthy B-29 left (there will soon be a second, Doc). The B-29 is the type of plane that dropped the atomic bombs on Japan (Enola Gay and Bockscar).

I sat in the gunner position in the back. I was the youngest person there and the only person who wasn't a retiree and snowbird. The seat cost me a little less than $600. Worth every penny. This was really fun and, dare I say, more fun than my flight on the B-17 in October.

I love World War II history, so it was great having the opportunity to fly in this warbird.
