Turning green!

Revamping the bog is giving me a headache!

I decided yesterday to give the walls the first coat of emulsion; a subtle shade of green called 'botanical extract'.
It went on well and I'd just about finished when Mr A came home from work.

'Why's it blue?' he asked. I thought he was winding me up so just laughed, as it looked green to me. However, when I stepped into the hallway to see what he was seeing, he was right....it looked sky blue!

I'd already bought a blind for the window which was matched to the colour on the tin of paint. When I held the blind up against the window though it really clashed with the paint.

We agreed it wasn't worth a second coat, so instead decided to return the paint to B&Q to see what they could do.
I took both tins back (even though I'd used almost 3/4 of one tin), in case they wanted to compare them.

I explained to the girl at customer services what had happened and without question, she offered us a full refund on BOTH tins and told us to see if we could find an alternative.

We got another green (and a different brand) to see if that would be better.

Mr A cracked on last night (missing his friend's birthday bash) and repainted the walls with the new colour, and it looked well.......until daylight broke this morning and a green glow radiated from the room :-0

We've laid the flooring this afternoon and even that looks green, so we had to have a rethink.

It does need a third coat, so we are hoping it will be third time lucky with our own mixture of the new green, diluted with white so we get the colour we actually want!

Today's blip is a work in progress from last night, which shows the alleged green (actually blue) on the left and the new green (yikes) on the right.
