A Tight Grip

I have been a bit distracted today as we have just found out that mother-in-law took a tumble a few days ago, hit her head/face on the door frame and, we think, knocked herself out. I say we think because she can't remember what happened exactly and didn't tell anyone else. She is now refusing to go to hospital or see a doctor because she doesn't want to be 'messed around with' but is clearly confused and not right. It is very difficult for us because she lives a 3 hour drive away, so we have had to do all communicating by phone. She lives on her own but has a very good neighbour who looks in on her every day and two nieces who live half an hour away, so we have been trying to join forces with them to persuade her. I'm just hoping she relents tomorrow and lets someone call a doctor or take her to A and E. I know she's probably frightened but she could well have made things worse by not letting on, I just hope she has a good night.
