'Coal Tank' 1054 with 'Metropolitan' carriage

The National Trust’s little LNWR O-6-2t ‘Coal Tank’ engine no. 1054  (courtesy of Bahamas Loco Scoiety)  was part of Keighley and Worth Valley’s wonderful spring Steam Gala.   Here it is pulling a beautifully restored vintage ‘Metropolitan’ carriage, one of the Vintage Carriage Trusts preserved wooden carriages.   As far as my research can ascertain this preserved Dreadnought wooden carriage is one of 92 wooden compartment carriages manufactured and introduced from 1910.   It was fitted with pressurised gas lighting and steam heating and although I don’t know how many still remain, the Vintage Carriage Trust apparently have three of these beautiful carriages.
