Strictly speaking not a bookshelf species - it's way too tall - the crowned crane wanders the open spaces of the adjacent steamer trunk. Originating in Zimbabwe I believe it's nearest known relative is the iron chicken. It was just too nasty to even think about taking photos outside today!
