There and back again

In the valley between Hookney Tor and Hameldown Tor ( above) you  can find this large stone pound which dates from the Middle or Late Bronze age. The circle is some 450m/1500ft in diameter and surrounded by a stone wall. A quick Google will leave you no clearer on the subject as all books seem to differ on on one fact or another.
They all agree that the pound was subject to an archeological dig in Victorian times, but not to a very high  standard by today's investigations
What ever, it is an imposing bit of history and well worth the short walk to reach it.
