Killer

This hungry Cooper's Hawk has already snatched and dispatched one Mourning Dove and is hunting for more. We have both been out to send him sailing(after he finished off the dove) but he will not leave. I cannot believe how close he allowed me with my camera. Menacing eye and beak( with traces of the victim) shown in full glory. He now sits in a tree and will not budge, still hungry, still hunting.

This day came in with brilliant  winter sun and temps below freezing. Another snowstorm even tomorrow night, ugh!
