Dunstable Downs

A good day out the office and flyable, but with much concentration and hard work on a flex.  A difficult day at Dunstable made trickier by the masses of paragliders that were out.

The heavy rain yesterday not only made for a boisterous ride around relatively new paraglider pilots but also an extremely muddy bottom landing (see my harness, this is my second flight!) when I made a strategic error.

Much lighter winds than predicted and cycling of the lift kept the hang glider flights short as otherwise crowded out.  Fortunately on my second flight I squeaked in on top and so was able to derig in the dry :-)

More experience, mostly that small hills and masses of paragliders sitting in lift unfortunately don't mix with hang gliders.  I did capture some other shots, including a fantastic pair of red kites right in the bowl, but this video still captured the median of the flying best.  There are more paragliders out of frame, actually all looks fine (ish) in this picture!
