AT THE DIEMELHOEHE
I heard it almost before I awoke. It rains. Not in large quantities, but just a bit more than a drizzle.
The day began slowly, considering what little jobs could be done, where our afternoon walk would bring us.
I suggested a mystery tour, because of the mist and rain. Hoping of course that the weather could change drastically as it had done so often the last days.
We set off rather heartely. Look at us, so brave, yes we have our umbrellas, in case. We had to use them all the time.
We followed the path along the Diemel a short time, then crossed the bridge over the river and started our walk towards the Diemelhöhe, where the Krukeburg ruine could be a possible mystery picture.
At first we had to return two times, because I had forgotten which street would go up to the higher fields. Not nice in this dreadful weather,
But we found it at the end and followed the path.
My picture gives an impression of what one sees at the horizon,
Piet Hein's picture gives a sight of the ruine.
We did not went near the ruine. No, we took a short way down the hill, crossed the bridge again and when we were near home, we decided to drink tea in a little cafe, to be warmed up. Good decision,
My haiku:
Please sit on the bench
But it is too wet and cold
We come back in summer
And the proverb:
At latter Lammas.
