What's in a name?
These are known as Lazybeds, a very prominent and visible topographical feature here. They could not be more inappropriately named!
Years ago, they were a method of arable cultivation, whereby the soil in the high wide ridges could be planted, and the shallow ridges separating them provided drainage. It must have been back-breaking work.
