First Bee!

It's been a glorious day!

Cold, but beautifully sunny, with the sunshine bringing some warmth. Spring is on it's way - I have no doubt. Why? 

Because I've photographed my first bees this year. They're not going to make an appearance if there's no food around. The crocus are blooming and that means plenty of nectar for these early bees.

The gardeners at Trentham Gardens planted swathes of crocus in the formation of flying geese a couple of years ago and they really are a spectacle - even if they're in miniature form. So knowing that they wouldn't be here for long this is where I finished my walk. I settled down on the ground taking close-up shots, when I spotted my first bee of the year. Marvelous!
