In My World

By JoanneInOz

At home.

I often watch the kookaburras sitting on this tree branch. It seems to me to be their lookout, either across the valley, or to my back veranda, where they will see me taking mincemeat outside for them at dinner time.

Today, this kookaburra sat on his branch for ages. Emma came around for afternoon tea, I made blueberry muffins for us, and as we sat at the table, talking, eating and drinking, I couldn't help but be distracted by the sight of the bird.

He seemed to be right at home here, as if he had found a comfortable sofa, and settled into the cushions the watch TV. Or the goings-on in valley. I'm sure there is much more activity down in those cane fields than any human knows.

But the kookaburras keen eyes see it all.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone. xx
