The Cherry Tree Hotel

For many weeks I have passed by here and earmarked this memorable old pub as a ripe contender for the ‘ DerelictThursday’  Blip challenge but never actually got to be here on a Thursday, until today:  so here’s my first offering, and I nearly got wiped out by the huge juggernauts  plying their way up north on the A41 just outside Whitchurch as I dangerously swung into a gap in the lay-by to take a picture of this once gorgeous old pub. My favourite memory of this lovely place was at least  35 years or more ago:   I got all dressed up to attend a  dinner ‘n’ Dance for some Society or Club I was in at the time.  I was taken to the event  by a handsome young man in a Jensen motor car -  I thought the whole thing was a most splendid affair!!!   
 
I’ll hang on to those good memories.
