Fifteen years ago our friend Howard heard about the Slow Food movement started in Italy by Carlo Petrini. He decided that we should have a branch here in Ayrshire which was a stroke of genius. These days we have wonderful local food producers whom we support with our custom. Carlo Petrini is currently in Scotland giving talks in large venues in Glasgow and Edinburgh. By some miracle Howard managed to juggle the schedule so that Mr Petrini could come to the village and spend some relaxed time with our local food producers and lo and behold but I was invited. This is the man himself. What a delightful passionate man. Really enjoyed meeting him and having a chat. Certainly made my day.
