Plant that looks like an exploding firework

R's sister is here for a few days. We went to watch a gig of hers  Friday,  and today went for a family walk in the woods. Being cooler, the woods still contained quite a lot of snow. Some of it was compacted and quite slippy and yours truly slid over. No damage done though.  After a wonderful dinner the walk was a welcome bit of excercise, and created room for c&c* when we got home.  (*= coffee and cake)
