Graduation

I've got into a pattern of going to Ghana in February every odd-numbered year, because this is when the Disabled Centre in Offinso has its graduation. February is also a good time for the church leaders conference I speak at in the north, because it's in the dry season and outside farming season.
This year I took £1000 raised when Mrs RT and I did a double sponsored run, and from church giving, to help the Disabled Centre build a primary school. The centre's main purpose is training disabled young people in skills and setting them up in their own small businesses, but there's an urgent need to help disabled children, to reduce the disadvantage they start life with and break down the stigma of disability.
I presented the money at the graduation; this was followed by fund-raising and I think encouraged people to give generously so the school project can start.
Here one of the graduands is being presented with her certificate by the Paramount Chief of the district.
They are also given tools for their trade, seed capital and a Bible.
