On the river this afternoon

I had to consult the experts in my bird group here in Arizona to ID this one.  It's a female Common Merganser my first one or "lifer"  as described by birding folks.   Her unique profile is natural and not distorted in Photoshop as one might expect :o)
 She swims along with her head half or more submerged looking for insects and small fish is says in my bird book.    A bright and cool day here again after a nasty windy day yesterday.
