Ker-plunk!

It would be true to say that I like playing *some* games with the kids: charades, cards, word-games and Pictionary all get the thumbs up from me. Cluedo and Monopoly, though, thumbs down.

Today the Minx had some drawing to do but just before retiring to her special room where the art happens, she brought down two boxes: one contained Ludo and the other, Ker-Plunk. Now, unlike the Minx, who, has a slightly* vindictive streak, I'm not a fan of Ludo but I was on for a game of Ker-Plunk, so I sat with Dan and Abi at the dining table to set it up.

To be honest, I don't remember it taking quite so long to set up the sticks, getting them all fitted in to the middle section, but eventually was it done and we tipped in the marbles. Not one slipped through! And after that we were into the game proper.

I'd forgotten what a gripping and tense game it is. And it was great fun, too, with all of us teasing each other as the game progressed. Towards the end there were a few miraculous plays, including one that appeared to leave marbles defying gravity!

And then the MiniMinx arrived home and the Ludo board came out so I slipped away to my book :-)

*Hahahahahahahahaha
