FEEDING TIME OVER

The ducks, geese & pigeons returned to the water as swiftly as they had emerged therefrom moments earlier, when a small girl and her adult stood on the edge throwing something edible.

As a duckophile, I had to hope that it wasn't bread. 
Very bad for them indeed - like chucking them chips.
I don't think it would have gone down very well had I called across, 'You really should try and get them some Duck  & Swan pellets or give  them nuts and seeds instead'.
