The Tallest Folly in the World.

Interesting meetings at work today, visited the car showroom and bought a new coat at lunchtime and yet returned home without a blip again.

So I ventured out in the murky drizzle and managed to get a shot of Wainhouse Tower.


It's the tallest structure in Calderdale and the tallest folly in the world. It was erected in the four years between 1871 and 1875. The main shaft is octagonal in shape and it has a square base and 403 steps leading to the first of two viewing platforms.


I have blipped this  before in 2013 and also in 2014 and several of my blip friends have also taken shots of this unusual structure.
