Chocolate box cottage

This thatched cottage has often caught my eye as I visit our nearest shop in the next village to ours. In the summer, the garden is usually full of flowers, but last year it began to look a bit neglected. Now the cottage has been sold and the new owners have applied for planning permission. Permission to do what? I hope they won't spoil it!
