Warm Fireplace

The fireplace is my favourite place in our house, from the rusty old nail from which we hang the stove utensil, to the scorch marks from the old bread oven. 

When we moved in, it was boarded up. It was fairly oppressive, just a big expanse of imposing wall. We got it opened up and couldn't believe how big it is. We were lucky to find the original Yorkshire stone lintel still intact too. 

We had a stove installed and there is nothing better on a winter's night than curling up on the sofa with the fire blazing and a nice glass of malbec.
