Ancient oak tree
I went to an area of Bournemouth, known as Kinson, to check on the masses of crocuses that grown on the green.
This was the scene in this day last year.

They were not as spectacular and someone was picking them!
Kinson predates the Domesday book although much of the village feel to it has disappeared.
The area is heavily associated with smuggling, particularly the so called King of Smugglers, Isaac Gulliver (1745 - 1822)
This oak tree is opposite the crocus field and very difficult to isolate from the houses and traffic.
It has a girth of over 5.8 metres and using a formula I found online, I estimate it to be over 400 years old.
Give or take a Civil War or two.
