The "Farmer's" Stone
An image of "The Farmer's stone" on a tombstone in the kirkyard of Liberton Kirk, Edinburgh, dating back to 1753
The stone shows the Pentland Hills in the background, and farmers ploughing with a Scots plough - one of very few representative pictures of the process in existence. A copy of the stone is held in the Scottish Museum of Rural Life.
