Buds

Saw these in a flower bed behind a rather large conifer in the garden whilst playing Piggy in the Middle with Children of Mine.

No idea what they are... irises? Or why they're behind the conifer. I just liked the colours. I will keep an eye a lens on them in the coming days to find out...
