Hello, Spring!
It's towards the end of February now, and in my neighborhood that means that the North American Robins (a member of the Thrush family) are returning to their ancestral nesting grounds. Which is in our back yard, apparently. Once, and not that long ago as this is only a 17 year old housing development, this was all a wooded area and generations of robins have no doubt called this place home. We saw one earlier in the month, and then two and today there must be 8 or 9 robins out there, swooping around, fighting over water rights and checking out the 'hood for suitable housing material and choice locations. Our robins don't exactly migrate, but in the winter they go somewhere else where they can find food. I guess that's what they do as they sort of disappear around here in the winter but "flock" back here in February and stay until Fall.
Another sunny but cooler day today. Rain and snow in the mountains is actually in the forecast, which is a good thing as it's been so dry. But since there is nothing we can do about it, I didn't feel the least bit guilty enjoying every sun filled moment of this last week.
Hope you are all having a good week. Tomorrow is Wednesday already...so the weekend will be coming down the pike soon enough.
See ya later
