Irrigation means green ....

... but no irrigation means very, very brown in North Canterbury!
We were off to Hanmer Springs tonight, just on dusk.
This photo was taken at Waipara.
As we drove further on it was intriguing to see dozens of large centre pivot irrigators with their bright lights flashing all around us, presumably to show they were working.
