Allium

For about 28 years of my life I assured my family that, despite the fact that I have grown up surrounded by thoroughly green fingered people, I would never ever like gardening.

Until I had my own garden (ok so make that a rented garden). About a week into moving here and staring at a patch of scruffy grass every day I just had to get out and start doing something. I dug a small bed and planted some allium bulbs, and since then have added tulips and a clematis amongst other things. I was so excited to see my alliums begin to flower this week as they were the first thing I planted and they are so bold and colourful.

So here is a photo of the first thing I ever planted in my 'own' garden :-)
