Monarch Series # 2

Just in case this turns into a monarch series following on from yesterday's blip - though I have to run this alongside the sunflower series because I'm sure there are still plenty more sunflower blips to come.

When I got home I did the usual brief scan of my chrysalises.  I was SO excited when I saw this butterfly was part way through its emergence.  Sadly by the time I got my macro lens on, it had already completed the process.  Still, I got to take his photo while he was still all wet and crumpled.  

An hour after this, I have just checked on him and the crumples have gone but he is still in the same place and is beginning to slowly fan his wings to speed the drying process.  In another hour or two he will have soared off.
