Also tried to get some interesting curves as the flowers rested against each other, almost nestling in - didn't quite work so may try again tomorrow before octet rehearsal. Oops, still not practised my difficult bits on my own... let's hope they've improved by magic. Used to work when I was a teenager!

Although I'd like to paint from real life where possible, I'm beginning to see more art possibilities working from some of the photos I have, at least to begin with.

Thought this was a better subject than a self-portrait. Some hours after popping round to neighbour's to collect a parcel, I caught sight of myself in the mirror. My eyeliner was halfway down my face after a big cry between work and getting home. They were too sweet to say anything or else simply didn't notice. Better out than in and all that.
