The War on Drugs

The original reason for our visit to the south coast was to see one of the bands we've both loved lately. We started the day taking advantage of our inclusive breakfast then drove to Devils Dyke for a windy walk over the Downs. We got to Brighton in time for a wander before the forecast rain hit, and we had to spend the rest of the day taking shelter in shops and cafes. We treated ourselves to an amazing vegetarian dinner (third specialist veggie meal in three days- heaven!) before the gig, where we were so pleased to discover early doors and seats with a view (so old). The show finished much earlier than predicted and we back at the car and on the road by 10.15pm. The journey home was horrible- battling through spray, wind and awful drivers but we made it back and were in bed by 1am; way later than a normal work night, but definitely better than we'd expected!
