"Its The Woody Woodpecker Show!"

Hands up all those who remember that one!
While at Mag's Mums this afternoon, we spotted (literally) this extremely shy visitor to the bird feeder. Fortunately, he/she was too intent on demolishing some more peanuts so I got a couple of fairly good photos. We hear the woodpecker regularly down the wood but seldom is it seen and never has it posed for close-ups.
It has been scorchio again here today and they do say the good spell may well stick around over the weekend. Hooray!
