After a few weeks of moving huge amounts of spoil, we are finally into digging and recording features.
It was bitterly cold today, with a snell wind. As you can see, Wee R is rocking the wooly hat/hoodie/hard hat look, and was still freezing.
She's drawing a plan of some mysterious pits and trenches in a flower bed. All at a scale of 1:20, so each square on the planning frame corresponds to a one centimetre square on the graph paper on her board.
You probably didn't realise that those "copy the picture on the left into the squares on the right" activities you used to do in your comic as an 8 year-old, were training you for a life as a professional archaeologist!
