Surviving the winter and the storms

I took a drive along to Redcastle this morning, before the weather got worse. The foresters are cutting a lot of trees out at the side of the forest near the wall which was knocked down in the storms before Christmas. We thought with all the work going on, it might frighten Sammy and his family away. But while I was there talking to my friend, as bold as brass,he came running across the road and up to the food box for his peanuts. The trees he used to cross the road on are all gone, but he wasn't to be outdone. They will probably have to put up signs Beware, Squirrels Crossing the road.
