Gatway to the Highlands

I was stuck in a traffic jam today on the way back from Fort William - a stand still situation for over an hour.  Then we started to crawl.....and I managed to get this shot - I think unless you were walking along the road (which I wouldn't advise as there is really only room for the two lanes of traffic!!!), you'd never be able to stop and take it, as it would be too dangerous for other traffic to come on top of a stationary vehicle........so I felt this was a prize......worth the wait on the road.
No idea what the history is behind it, and want to know now.......
