A wonderful day
So many choices for photos and subjects from today. Our first mission was to walk up to the Acropolis, beautiful views over the city and wandering around the amazing marble ruins, finding many a cat on the way up. We then came right the way back into the centre of town to see the changing of the guard. All I can say is I wish I had their sense of balance, and all day I was sure a photo of the changing of the guard was to be my blip, until the sunset. We then went to the national gardens, took silly photos in various parts of them, watching terrapins and wandering through an orangery. Then we headed off to a rather tall hill to see the sunset. walking half way up then taking the vernacular railway to the top. An absolutely stunning view, and we definitely picked the right day of our trip to see the sunset. Obviously more silly photos ensued, but I picked a pretty one of the sky, I don't think I'll forget sitting up there with Nori watching the sunset for a very long time, rather chilly but a real highlight of the trip for me. Then we came down and had an absolutely wonderful greek meal before catching the train back to the hotel with very very achey feet.
