Washed and Dressed
This is my "go to" winter scarf, knitted from Donna Druchunas's delightful book Arctic Lace and using wonderful Shetland 'Ultra' wool (see yesterday's blip). Because I tend to wear my scarf all the time it gets a bit grimy so I've just washed, stretched and 'dressed' it, a traditional Shetland method to reshape knitted lace. You pin it out using loads of special glass-headed pins and leave it to dry. I did mine inside on a couple of towels but traditional Shetland dressing was done outside - on fine days!
