Coastguard heroes

Here are our Coastguard Rescue crew on their Jet Ski machine. They tell me that they are the only Coastguard station in the country that has one of these.

The Kent Estuary and parts of Morecambe Bay are very dangerous with fast running tides and notorious quicksands. Even though there are many warning notices people still wander out there and get into life threatening situations. The Jet Ski is very valuable and has been involved in several life saving operations.

Again with Blipping you learn to expect the unexpected. The shots I took this morning were not very inspiring but with a quick walk down to the promenade this afternoon to look at the high tide I suddenly found that the Jet Ski was out on a practice exercise.
