Do Not Open
It's the sabbath and a very Presbyterian one at that; it's dark, it's raining, it's cold and depressing and I have promised to meet Granddaughter #1 in town and take her on her first Edinburgh Tram ride to the furthest reaches of Edinburgh.
She is on a fortnight's reading break from Stirling University and with her home being in Oman, and her student friends dispersed for the two weeks, she is feeling very 'Billy-no-mates' in Edinburgh.
His Lordship rallied sufficiently today to accompany me to our Sabbath Café and scoff his usual marmalade on toast. On our damp walk home I was desperate enough to blip this rusty padlock on a door obviously never opened.
At least it doesn't seem to be one of those small padlocks springing up on bridges and fences with notes proclaiming undying love for a.n other.
