Josep and Carmen

There's nothing new under the sun as was demonstrated today this afternoon when our former landlady, Carmen, produced her journal which she keeps every day just as we keep our journals here.

She was our landlady for exactly five years from 1993 to 1998 and has come to our home every year for a catch up since. We decided to drop in on them today as a surprise and received a very warm welcome. Carmen was also the landlady of our good blipper friend SusaniOslo and she was thrilled to see up to date blip photos of Susan and her growing boys.

It's been a day of reconnecting around our Barcleona block. First, the local bookshop cafe, then the ham and cheese stall in the local food market before heading up to perhaps our favourite restaurant in the city, Casa Joana in Sarria. I have a short story based loosely on their development over the years which is presently under translation into Catalan to hang on their walls. Espinacas A La Crema - Spinach with Cream - is the title and we had some today. It was as good as ever!
