Souter Lighthouse
Teeny lie in this morning then up & tidied all signs of grandchildren away!
Beautiful cold but sunny day so off for a drive along the coast, opposite way to where we normally go....to the darkside as my hubby says, otherwise known as Sunderland....apologies to anyone who lives there but as he used to play for Newcastle many moons ago he still doesn't like to go to Sunderland! Anyway this is Souter Lighthouse in Marsden, it stands midway between the Tyne & the Wear & was the first lighthouse in the world to be designed & built to be powered by electricity. Drove back along after a cuppa & sandwich & stopped at North Shields then walked along to Tynemouth & back. Really enjoyed the bright sunshine & fresh air.
