Take off!

Not much activity at Manley Mere this afternoon - I think the unpredictable weather had put the wildlife off.

Just this flock of skittish Coots on the water - wouldn't let me get anywhere near them. Kept flying off to the other side of the mere.

Still, it let me get this shot of them taking off.  I love the way they have to run on the water to get enough momentum to lift off :-)
