HIDDEN
I love low tides as they expose areas and features of shoreline that lie hidden by sea. Outcrops of rarely seen skerries, surrounded by mini forests of kelp and tangle, spring into view. This is Skigersta bay. The channel was cleared at the time of the ling fishery, which peaked about 1900. In the background is the Gil glen where the industry of salting and drying fish once thrived.
